Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in financial operations, ideally with experience in a fast-paced environment. You are detail-oriented and hands-on, excited about building foundational financial infrastructure that supports rapid growth. You thrive on ambiguity and are committed to owning outcomes, ensuring that financial systems and reporting scale effectively with the company's needs.
You possess a CPA or equivalent certification, which demonstrates your expertise in accounting principles and practices. Experience in SaaS or B2B marketplace business models is a plus, as is exposure to multi-entity or international accounting standards such as IFRS. You have a background in implementing new finance systems or ERP migrations, which will be invaluable in this role.
What you'll do
As the Controller at Protege, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, expense management, and reconciliations. You will lead the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Your role will involve managing accounting processes and implementing scalable systems that support the company's growth trajectory.
You will collaborate closely with the Head of People & Operations and Finance Leadership, providing insights that drive strategic decisions. Your ability to deliver accurate financial reporting will be crucial in helping the leadership team make informed choices. You will also be responsible for ensuring that financial controls are in place and functioning effectively, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
