You have 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes. Your expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks allows you to create detailed designs that meet production requirements. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. You possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, enabling you to design effective tools that enhance production efficiency. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work that meets both technical specifications and project timelines. You are passionate about innovation and eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects in the aerospace industry.
Desirable
Experience with rocket or aerospace manufacturing is a plus, as is familiarity with automation technologies. What you'll do
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing tooling and fixtures that support the production of the Terran R rocket. You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective design solutions. Your role will involve creating detailed CAD models and drawings, ensuring that all designs adhere to industry standards and best practices. You will also participate in design reviews, providing feedback and suggestions to improve product designs and manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will work on optimizing existing tools and fixtures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes that enhance performance and efficiency.
You will have the opportunity to lead projects from concept through to production, ensuring that all designs are feasible and meet production timelines. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Terran R program, as you help to streamline manufacturing processes and improve overall production capabilities. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles.
