You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on developer experience — you've worked with complex monorepo structures and understand the intricacies of tooling that enhance productivity. Your expertise in TypeScript allows you to navigate and maintain large codebases effectively, ensuring that all engineers can work efficiently. You are familiar with build pipelines and have experience optimizing them to reduce build times and improve iteration speed. Your understanding of frontend and backend technologies, particularly with frameworks like React and Express, enables you to contribute to both sides of the development process. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in developer workflows.

Desirable

Experience with GraphQL and code generation tools such as Protocol Buffers is a plus. Familiarity with Vite as a build tool will also be beneficial in this role. You are comfortable in a leadership position, ready to take initiative as the first hire in this area, and you are excited about the opportunity to shape the future of the team as it grows.

What you'll do

In this role, you will maintain and evolve a complex monorepo structure that spans frontend, backend, npm packages, and tooling. You will own the build pipelines, optimizing them to minimize build times and improve developer iteration speed. Your focus will be on enhancing the developer experience, acting as a force multiplier across all product development teams. You will also be involved in improving and overseeing code generation processes, ensuring that tools like GraphQL and Protocol Buffers are effectively utilized. As a key decision maker in the Agent’s default stack, you will collaborate closely with the AI team to develop strategies that enhance the Agent’s output and stack. Your contributions will directly impact the productivity of all engineers working within the monorepo, enabling faster feature delivery and reducing operational overhead.
