Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in firmware engineering, particularly with embedded systems and Linux environments. Your hands-on expertise in Linux internals and device drivers allows you to tackle complex challenges effectively. You are skilled in optimizing system performance and stability, ensuring that the firmware you develop meets high standards of reliability and efficiency. Your background includes working with various hardware platforms, giving you a broad perspective on integration and performance tuning. You thrive in collaborative environments, where you can share knowledge and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. You are passionate about the Internet of Things (IoT) and its potential to transform industries, and you are excited to contribute to solutions that enhance safety and efficiency in physical operations.

Desirable

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) is a plus, as is familiarity with safety-critical systems. Knowledge of hardware design and debugging techniques will further enhance your contributions to the team. What you'll do

As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Samsara, you will own and evolve the embedded Linux stack that powers our Safety devices. Your primary responsibility will be to drive improvements in system stability, boot performance, and hardware integration across multiple platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware components. Your role will involve designing and implementing new features, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the field. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for firmware development within the team. Your work will directly impact the safety and efficiency of operations for millions of drivers worldwide, making your contributions vital to our mission.
