You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, specifically in threat modeling and risk assessment — you've successfully led initiatives to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in software applications. Your hands-on experience with automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices allows you to enhance security processes efficiently.

You are passionate about security and understand the importance of protecting customer data — your expertise in OWASP principles and threat modeling methodologies enables you to proactively address potential security risks. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into the software development lifecycle.

You possess strong analytical skills and can effectively communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders — your ability to translate technical jargon into understandable terms fosters a culture of security awareness within the organization. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying potential security gaps before they become issues.

Desirable

Experience with cloud security and familiarity with AWS or Azure environments would be a plus — you understand the unique security challenges posed by cloud-based applications and can implement best practices to mitigate risks. Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are highly regarded, as they demonstrate your commitment to the field of information security.

What you'll do

As a Senior Security Engineer at Samsara, you will lead the threat modeling process across various product teams — your role will involve collaborating with technical product managers and engineers to assess security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. You will conduct regular security assessments and audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

You will leverage automation tools to streamline security processes and enhance efficiency — your experience with infrastructure-as-code will allow you to implement security controls seamlessly within the development pipeline. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of security within the team.

Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining security documentation, conducting training sessions for team members, and staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and vulnerabilities — you will be the go-to expert for security-related inquiries and will play a critical role in shaping the security posture of the organization.
