Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical systems design and have spent several years working on navigation and positioning technologies. Your experience includes evaluating and integrating advanced sensor technologies, and you thrive in hands-on, technically focused roles that require analytical and experimental skills. You are passionate about hardware innovation and applied research, particularly in the context of autonomous systems.
You bring deep expertise in working with GNSS, IMUs, FOGs, LRGs, and LiDARs, and you understand the complexities involved in integrating these technologies into autonomous marine systems. Your analytical mindset allows you to conduct thorough benchmarking and trade studies, ensuring that the best technologies are selected for implementation.
You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working at the intersection of hardware and software, and you have a proven track record of driving projects from concept through to deployment. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly makes you an effective contributor to cross-functional teams.
Desirable
Experience with maritime systems or autonomous vehicles is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest advancements in sensor technologies. You are also open to learning new skills and technologies that can enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the research and development efforts for navigation and positioning systems that enhance the capabilities of Saronic's fleet of autonomous vessels. You will evaluate and benchmark cutting-edge navigation technologies, ensuring that the systems you design meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
You will be responsible for integrating various sensor technologies into the autonomous platforms, working closely with other engineers to ensure seamless functionality. Your hands-on approach will involve conducting experiments and analyzing data to validate the effectiveness of the systems you develop.
Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work alongside software engineers and project managers to align technical solutions with project goals. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.
