Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building and supporting platform systems that are reliable and scalable. Your background includes working with various engineering teams to address performance and reliability needs, ensuring that the systems you develop can handle growth and complexity.
You possess strong skills in Java and have experience with cloud technologies such as AWS. Your familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes allows you to contribute effectively to system reliability and observability.
You are comfortable participating in on-call rotations and have experience operating production systems, responding to incidents, and collaborating with teams to resolve issues. Your ability to automate processes and create well-considered abstractions is a key part of your engineering philosophy.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy partnering with product teams to deliver capabilities that meet diverse team needs. Your communication skills enable you to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of project goals.
Desirable
Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with monitoring and logging tools that enhance system observability. A background in the ticketing or events industry could provide valuable context for your work at SeatGeek.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, build, and support shared platform systems and tooling that empower teams across SeatGeek to develop and run services reliably. You will partner closely with engineering and product teams to address performance, scalability, and reliability needs as the marketplace and business grow.
Your contributions will include enhancing system reliability through automation and well-considered abstractions, ensuring that the platform remains dependable at scale. You will participate in operating production systems, supporting releases, and responding to incidents and support requests with guidance and collaboration from your team.
You will also be involved in the continuous improvement of the platform, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions that simplify workflows for other teams. Your work will help ensure that SeatGeek can deliver great experiences to its users, especially during critical moments when systems matter most.
