Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, focusing on threat detection and incident response — you've developed and implemented security measures that protect sensitive data and mitigate risks effectively. Your expertise in automation allows you to streamline processes, reducing manual intervention and enhancing efficiency in security operations.
You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to analyze incidents and identify root causes — you thrive on dissecting complex security challenges and developing innovative solutions. Your experience with CI/CD practices ensures that security is integrated into the development lifecycle, promoting a culture of security-first thinking.
You are a natural mentor, eager to share your knowledge with team members — you enjoy guiding others in best practices for security and incident management. Your collaborative spirit helps you partner effectively with cross-functional teams to improve the overall security posture of the organization.
Your technical skills include proficiency in Python and familiarity with AWS services — you understand how to leverage cloud technologies to enhance security measures. You are also well-versed in incident response protocols, ensuring that your team is prepared to handle security incidents swiftly and effectively.
Desirable
Experience with threat intelligence platforms and tools is a plus — you are familiar with the latest trends in cybersecurity and can apply this knowledge to enhance detection capabilities. A background in conducting Red Team exercises will further strengthen your ability to identify vulnerabilities and improve security measures.
What you'll do
As the Lead Threat Detection and Response Engineer, you will mature Sendbird's threat detection program by analyzing gaps and implementing detective controls — your role will involve coordinating and driving resolution on a diverse range of security incidents, ensuring that the organization is prepared to respond effectively.
You will develop and deploy detection strategies using engineering practices, including testing and validation, to ensure that security measures are robust and effective — your focus on automation will help streamline incident response processes, allowing the team to react quickly to potential threats.
You will mentor other members of the security team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement — your guidance will help elevate the team's capabilities and ensure that everyone is equipped to handle security challenges. You will also partner with other teams to enhance Sendbird's overall security posture, collaborating on initiatives that promote security awareness and best practices.
Researching and identifying new attack vectors against Sendbird's products will be a key part of your role — you will conduct internal Red Team and Table Top activities to identify gaps in security and develop strategies to address them. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping the future of Sendbird's security initiatives.
