Overview
Sentient is seeking a Security Research Fellow to work at the intersection of cryptography, hardware security, and open-source AI. You'll gain hands-on engineering experience and contribute to the Sentient Enclaves Framework. This role is ideal for students excited about confidential computing.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a student (undergraduate, masterβs, or PhD) with a strong interest in security research, particularly in the areas of cryptography and hardware security. You have a foundational understanding of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and are eager to dive deep into the technical aspects of confidential computing. Your academic background has equipped you with the analytical skills necessary to evaluate and benchmark TEE performance against alternative offerings. You are a collaborative individual who enjoys working with researchers and engineers to design innovative solutions in the realm of open-source AI.
You possess a passion for original research and are motivated to contribute to publications that advance the field of confidential computing. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly will help you engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are excited about the opportunity to shape the direction of a pioneering open AI platform and are committed to democratizing AI development.
What you'll do
As a Security Research Fellow at Sentient, you will engineer core components of the Sentient Enclaves Framework (SEF), contributing to the development of a TEE stack for confidential inference and trustless AI evaluation. You will run benchmarking and evaluation pipelines to measure TEE performance, collaborating closely with Sentient researchers to design trustless evaluation methods. Your role will involve hands-on engineering tasks that will deepen your understanding of TEEs and their applications in AI.
You will have the opportunity to engage in real-world evaluations of TEEs, gaining practical experience that complements your academic studies. Your contributions will not only enhance the SEF but also position you as a subject-matter expert in the field. You will be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration, working alongside top engineers and researchers in the AI domain. This role is designed to provide you with a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing you for a successful career in security research and AI development.
What we offer
Sentient offers a competitive salary and the chance to work with top-of-the-line engineers and technology. You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of a pioneering open AI platform, contributing to a mission that empowers communities to collaboratively create and monetize AI models. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds in our team.
