Deep expertise in Kafka and similar technologies — you've designed and implemented streaming applications that handle large volumes of data efficiently. You are comfortable with the complexities of managing state and scaling consumers automatically, allowing product teams to focus on delivering exceptional user experiences.

Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset — you thrive in team environments where you can share knowledge and mentor others. You understand the importance of developer experience and are passionate about creating tools that empower your peers.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure — familiarity with deploying applications in cloud environments is a plus. Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and practices to ensure system reliability and stability would be beneficial.

What you'll do

Join Sentry's Streaming Platform team and contribute to building the next generation of infrastructure that powers our ingestion pipelines and real-time data processing systems. You will work on creating a self-service streaming platform that simplifies the complexity of Kafka, enabling Sentry engineers to deploy and run streaming applications at scale.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve challenges at the intersection of distributed systems and developer experience. Your role will involve designing and implementing solutions that improve system stability and accelerate deployment times, allowing teams to focus on building great software.

Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team. You will also be responsible for monitoring system performance and making recommendations for improvements based on data-driven insights.
