Who you are
You have a strong background in embedded systems and machine learning, with experience in designing and deploying algorithms for gesture detection on ultra-low-power hardware. You are comfortable working across the software stack and excited about taking features from concept to product. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with hardware, firmware, and product teams to create seamless user interactions.
You possess a deep understanding of machine learning models and their adaptation for mobile-class hardware, ensuring that your solutions are both innovative and practical. Your experience includes the full development cycle, from system design to data collection and model optimization, demonstrating your ability to manage complex projects.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, train, and deploy algorithms for gesture detection, focusing on ultra-low-power embedded hardware. You will evaluate and adapt larger machine learning models to run efficiently on mobile devices, ensuring that the user experience is both rich and reliable. You will own the full development cycle, which includes system design, data collection and curation, synthetic data generation, model training and evaluation, and on-device optimization.
Collaboration is key in this position; you will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and product teams to integrate your algorithms with evolving hardware designs. You will also research promising approaches from the literature and innovate new methods to achieve Sesame's unique goals. Your contributions will directly impact the development of voice companions that feel natural and human-like, shaping the future of interaction with technology.
