Who you are
You have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on product design, particularly in wearable electronics. Your experience includes owning the mechanical architecture and design for hardware projects, ensuring that aesthetics and functionality are seamlessly integrated. You possess excellent prototyping skills and a deep understanding of materials and fabrication processes, which allows you to create attractive and functional designs. You are comfortable collaborating across domains, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to life. Your ability to prioritize and drive explorations in mechanical design makes you a valuable asset in a fast-paced startup environment.
Desirable
Experience with image sensor and battery integration is a plus, as is familiarity with thermal design and testing. You have a keen eye for aesthetics and understand how to balance form and function in your designs. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with engineers and designers to achieve project goals. You are decisive and results-oriented, thriving in an environment where you can take ownership of your work and drive projects forward with limited supervision.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the mechanical architecture and design for all wearable hardware workstreams at Sesame. You will be responsible for integrating complex sensing and computing systems into compact and functional designs. Your initial responsibilities will include identifying and onboarding design and fabrication partners, defining the mechanical engineering tool flow, and driving prototyping roadmaps and execution. You will collaborate with other engineers to influence system architecture and ensure that all aspects of development are aligned with the overall vision of the product. Your work will directly impact the development of innovative voice companions that aim to enhance human-computer interaction.
