Who you are

You have extensive experience in the Big Data domain, with a strong background in architecting, implementing, and maintaining Big Data solutions. Your expertise includes working with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, MapReduce, Oozie, Hive, Impala, Spark, and Kafka. You are comfortable with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and you understand configuration management systems thoroughly.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to interface effectively with clients at the VP and Director levels. You are adept at understanding business requirements and translating them into technological solutions that align with client data strategies. Your experience includes managing teams and driving good engineering practices from the ground up.

You have a proven track record of developing industry-leading CI/CD, monitoring, and support practices within your team. Your ability to automate DevOps processes has significantly reduced team effort and improved efficiency. You are also skilled in performing root cause analysis for production errors and supporting developers in day-to-day operations.

What you'll do

As a DataOps Lead at Sigmoid, you will be responsible for managing and designing highly scalable and available solutions for data pipelines. You will work closely with clients across leading Fortune 500 companies to understand their strategic requirements and ensure that the data solutions you provide meet their needs. Your role will involve connecting with clients regularly and traveling to client locations as necessary.

You will strategically support technical initiatives and evaluate technology stacks that best fit client data strategies and constraints. Your responsibilities will include driving automation and managing massive deployments, ensuring that the data pipelines you develop are fault-tolerant and efficient.

You will lead the development of scripts to automate DevOps processes, collaborate with your team to resolve issues, and support TB scale pipelines. Your leadership will guide the team in day-to-day design, automation, and support tasks, while also playing a key role in hiring technical talent to build the future of the team.
