You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in data-centric roles where you've built systems that handle large volumes of data. Your expertise in data architecture and engineering allows you to design solutions that are both scalable and efficient.
You are proficient in modern data tools and platforms, with hands-on experience in Databricks and Palantir. Your background in AI and machine learning enables you to leverage data for predictive analytics and insights, making you a valuable asset to any data team.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and can navigate complex technical challenges, especially those related to data collection and transformation from autonomous systems. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that data-driven decisions are made seamlessly across the organization.

What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing systems that collect, transform, and store data from thousands of autonomous drones. Your work will enable Skydio to make informed, data-driven decisions that enhance the capabilities of their products.
You will define the data architecture and champion the use of modern tooling, ensuring that the data lakehouse is optimized for performance and scalability. Your role will involve collaborating with data scientists and engineers to develop predictive models that can forecast hardware issues before they occur, thereby improving the reliability of Skydio's drones.
You will also work on creating 3D maps of connectivity across operational airspace, providing valuable insights to customers about where their drones can safely operate.
