Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience shipping AI features in production β€” you've successfully navigated the complexities of the AI engineering lifecycle, from design to deployment, and understand the nuances of prompt engineering and evaluation metrics. Your background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Statistics equips you with the technical foundation to tackle challenging problems in enterprise data.

You possess strong skills in SQL and Python β€” these tools are second nature to you, and you leverage them to build agentic workflows and NL-to-SQL functionalities. Your experience with machine learning and data engineering allows you to create robust solutions that enhance how businesses interact with their data.

You thrive in collaborative environments β€” working closely with product and infrastructure teams, you translate customer problems into innovative products and experiments. Your ability to analyze errors and run experiments helps you continuously improve the features you build.

You are a natural leader β€” guiding a team of engineers, you foster a culture of innovation and excellence, ensuring that everyone is aligned towards building great products. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex ideas clearly, making you an effective partner in cross-functional collaborations.

Desirable

A Master’s degree or higher is preferred but not required. Experience with AI tools and frameworks, as well as a strong understanding of semantic models, will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own features end-to-end for Snowflake Cortex products, building workflows that enhance enterprise-grade context engineering. You will design evaluations and hillclimb metrics, creating golden sets and rubrics to analyze errors and run experiments that drive improvements. Your work will directly impact how businesses understand and leverage their data, making your contributions vital to the success of the Cortex Apps team.

You will collaborate with infrastructure teams to productionize improvements, ensuring that the solutions you develop are scalable and efficient. By partnering with product teams, you will translate customer needs into actionable experiments, driving innovation and enhancing user experience.

Your leadership will guide a small, high-powered modeling and infrastructure team, where you will mentor engineers and foster a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for the full AI engineering lifecycle, from design to optimization, ensuring that the products you build meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

What we offer

At Snowflake, you will be part of a culture that values impact, innovation, and collaboration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement.
