Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on DevOps practices — you've developed and maintained CI/CD pipelines and understand the intricacies of software lifecycle management. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to build robust tools that enhance developer productivity and system reliability.
You are proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes — you know how to deploy applications in a scalable manner and ensure they run smoothly in production environments. Your experience with AWS and other cloud platforms enables you to design and implement cloud-native solutions that meet the demands of modern applications.
You are a collaborative engineer who enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams — you thrive in environments where you can share knowledge and learn from others. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you approach challenges with enthusiasm and creativity, always looking for ways to improve processes and systems.
You have a strong foundation in Linux and understand system administration — you can troubleshoot issues effectively and ensure that systems are secure and performant. Your familiarity with Git and version control practices helps you manage code changes efficiently and collaborate with other engineers seamlessly.
Desirable
Experience in the aerospace or telecommunications industry is a plus, but not required — we value smart, motivated engineers who are eager to learn and make an impact. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools will help you ensure system reliability and performance.
What you'll do
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for inventing tools and systems that enable rapid development and deployment of software for the Starlink project. You will engage with other engineers to understand their workflows and challenges, using this knowledge to create solutions that enhance their productivity.
You will manage the complete lifecycle of the software you create, from development through testing and support — your commitment to quality will be critical to the reliability of our services. You will work on automating processes and improving system performance, ensuring that our teams can innovate rapidly and reliably.
You will collaborate with software engineers to design and implement CI/CD pipelines that streamline the deployment process — your expertise will help reduce friction in the development workflow and enable faster delivery of features. You will also be involved in capacity planning and infrastructure management, ensuring that our systems can handle the demands of a growing user base.
Your role will require you to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise — you will be the go-to engineer for resolving operational challenges and ensuring that our services remain available and performant. You will also contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team, helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
