Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of professional experience in deburring, grinding, or machining metal items. Alternatively, you may hold a degree or certificate from a trade school or work program. Your hands-on experience with large moveable structures and familiarity with cranes or forklifts is a plus. You understand the importance of precision in machining operations and are eager to contribute to a team that is pushing the boundaries of technology.

You are detail-oriented and capable of following process specifications to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standards. Your ability to work with various tools and machinery, including drill motors and deburring tools, allows you to prepare parts for installation effectively. You are committed to achieving close tolerance surface finishes and understand the significance of quality in every aspect of your work.

What you'll do

As a Metal Spinning Technician, you will be responsible for drilling, reaming, and countersinking full-size holes in parts and assemblies, ensuring that each task is completed in the correct sequence and to the specified dimensions. You will use a variety of tools, including drill motors, bits, reamers, and countersinks, to meet the dimensional requirements set forth in the specifications. Additionally, you will deburr holes using appropriate tools to prepare for the installation of fasteners, clamps, and positioners.

Your role will also involve assembling and disassembling tools according to process specifications, as well as performing metal blending to achieve the required surface finishes. You will be tasked with moving, mounting, configuring, and setting up workpieces to meet machine requirements prior to machining, spin forming, or heat treating. Operating machinery and equipment to perform these tasks will be a key part of your daily responsibilities, and you will be expected to run CNC machining, spin forming, and heat treating processes efficiently.
