Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations at the Starship production site in Boca Chica. You'll perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a diverse range of equipment critical to Starship production. This role requires expertise in PLCs, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in fleet maintenance, with experience in repairing and maintaining a variety of equipment including automotive assets and heavy industrial machinery. Your skills in troubleshooting complex automation systems, including PLCs and HMIs, enable you to ensure operational readiness for critical production processes. You are familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and can effectively diagnose and repair issues related to actuators, valves, and pumps. Your hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy transit vehicles makes you a valuable asset in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining equipment reliability, ensuring that all fleet assets are in optimal working condition.

Desirable

Experience with automated tool mechanical systems, including ballscrews and linear rails, is a plus. Familiarity with self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) and cranes will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. A background in industrial machinery maintenance will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Fleet Maintenance Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all fleet assets to ensure their proper operating condition. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on various complex automation systems that support transport systems. Your role will involve troubleshooting and repairing control and electrical system failures, ensuring that all equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. You will also be tasked with diagnosing and fixing issues with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as automated tool mechanical systems. Driving forklifts and company vehicles will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that you can effectively manage the logistics of maintenance operations. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to support the fast-paced demands of Starship manufacturing, contributing to the overall success of the mission.
