Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer to lead the execution of partnerships and contractual agreements with the US Government for national security missions. You'll coordinate technical analyses and ensure compliance with mission-specific requirements. This role requires strong communication and technical integration skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, with experience in technical integration and project management — you understand the complexities involved in launching national security missions and have a proven track record of working with government stakeholders. Your ability to negotiate requirements and coordinate technical analyses is essential for ensuring compliance with mission-specific standards. You thrive in collaborative environments, serving as the main interface between technical teams and external partners.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders — your experience allows you to build trust and rapport with various teams, ensuring that all parties are aligned throughout the mission integration process. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results, understanding the critical nature of the payloads you will be working with.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or with government contracts is a plus — familiarity with launch vehicle certification processes and payload integration will set you apart. You are adaptable and can navigate the challenges that come with working on sensitive and complex projects, ensuring that all requirements are met without compromising on quality.

What you'll do

As a Mission Integration Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the technical integration of government payloads, ensuring that all designs, test plans, and qualification campaigns are executed to the highest standards. You will work closely with the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) team, serving as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Your role will involve negotiating requirements and coordinating technical analyses to ensure compliance with mission-specific standards.

You will be responsible for maintaining the certification of SpaceX launch vehicles, providing fleet insight to government customers, and ensuring that all payloads are delivered to orbit successfully. Your work will directly contribute to SpaceX's mission of becoming the premier domestic provider of National Security Space missions, and you will play a key role in shaping the future of space exploration.

You will collaborate with various teams across the company, ensuring that all technical aspects of the mission are aligned and that any potential issues are addressed proactively. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance will be crucial to your success in this role.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of space exploration. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to work on groundbreaking projects that have a significant impact on national security and the future of humanity in space. Join us in our mission to make life multi-planetary and be part of a team that is shaping the future of space travel.
