Who you are

You have a strong background in project management, ideally with experience in aerospace or satellite missions. You understand the complexities of managing customer requirements and deliverables, ensuring that all aspects of a launch service contract are executed properly. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders is essential, as you will serve as the primary customer interface throughout the mission lifecycle.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with engineering, production, and launch integration teams to ensure mission success. Your attention to detail and organizational skills allow you to manage schedules and changes effectively, keeping all parties informed and aligned.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or with satellite missions is a plus. Familiarity with technical project management tools and methodologies will help you excel in this role. A passion for space exploration and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking missions will drive your success at SpaceX.

What you'll do

As a Mission Manager at SpaceX, you will lead new technical projects from proposal through completion, ensuring that all customer requirements are met. You will manage the entire lifecycle of a mission, from pre-contract negotiations to mission design reviews, launch campaigns, and post-launch data reviews. Your role will require you to coordinate with various teams across the organization, including vehicle engineering, production, and flight reliability, to ensure a safe and successful mission.

You will be responsible for understanding all aspects of your assigned launch service contract, ensuring proper execution and adherence to schedules. Your ability to manage customer expectations and deliverables will be critical, as you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the mission lifecycle.

In addition to managing commercial missions, you may also have opportunities to support government missions and small satellite rideshare missions, broadening your experience and impact within the company. You will play a key role in providing affordable and reliable access to space for a variety of customers, contributing to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.
