Who you are

You are an entry-level Automation & Control Systems Technician with a foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles. You have experience with wiring, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems, and you are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. You possess strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable using measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and voltage calibrators. You enjoy collaborating with design engineers and fellow technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. You are detail-oriented and capable of following work planning documents and instructions accurately.

Desirable

Experience with Mil-C connectors and cable assembly is a plus, as is familiarity with shop assembly equipment and hand tools. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that enhance the efficiency and reliability of control systems. A proactive attitude towards safety and quality assurance is essential in this role.

What you'll do

As an Automation & Control Systems Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for installing and terminating wiring to pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems. You will perform continuity checks and locate wiring errors, ensuring that all systems function correctly. Your role will involve collaborating with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data. You will also generate purchase orders from vendor quotes and lead complex projects with minimal oversight. Additionally, you will install and modify electrical conveyances, including conduit and cable trays, and build intricate cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors.
