Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, and have a strong foundation in automation and manufacturing processes. You have experience in designing and implementing projects that involve machine design, robotics, and manufacturing systems. Your expertise includes writing and debugging PLC code, which is essential for controlling automated systems. You are familiar with vision systems for robotic guidance and quality control, and you understand how to track factory performance through data-driven methodologies. You are committed to safety and compliance, ensuring that all systems meet ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA standards.

What you'll do

As a Solar Manufacturing Automation Engineer at SpaceX, you will be part of a cross-disciplinary team focused on developing the next generation of solar arrays for the Starlink satellites. Your responsibilities will include designing, building, qualifying, and implementing automation projects from ideation to production. You will architect and debug PLC code to control manufacturing processes and implement vision systems that enhance robotic operations. Additionally, you will design user interfaces that simplify complex machinery for operators, ensuring ease of use and troubleshooting. You will create electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics for control panels, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the manufacturing environment.
