You have a strong background in PCB design, with experience in creating layouts from circuit schematics. Your attention to detail ensures that your designs can withstand the harsh conditions of space travel, including thermal, shock, and EMI challenges. You are proficient in using PCB design software such as Altium Designer and Eagle, and you understand the intricacies of component placement and layer stackup. You are passionate about circuit board design and eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of technology.

Experience with avionics systems or aerospace applications is a plus. Familiarity with industry standards for PCB design and manufacturing will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to take ownership of your projects, ensuring mission success through your designs.
What you'll do
As a PCB Designer on the Avionics Hardware Development team, you will be responsible for performing printed circuit board layouts based on designed circuit schematics. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including electrical and mechanical engineers, to ensure that your designs meet the necessary specifications for spacecraft. Your role will involve reviewing and updating schematics, determining layer stackup, and selecting appropriate components for your designs. You will iterate on your designs based on feedback from design reviews, ensuring that your PCB layouts are optimized for performance and reliability in extreme environments.
You will also work closely with mechanical engineers to determine the placement of fasteners and EEE components, ensuring that your designs can survive the harsh conditions experienced by spacecraft. Your contributions will play a crucial role in the success of SpaceX's missions, as the circuit boards you design will control critical systems on the spacecraft.
