Who you are
You have a strong background in PCB design, with experience in creating layouts for various applications, including RF and power conversion. You understand the intricacies of component package selection and routing feasibility studies, ensuring that your designs meet both performance and manufacturability standards. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work closely with Hardware Development Engineers, providing valuable insights during design reviews and iterations.
You are proficient in using PCB design tools such as Altium Designer and Eagle, and you have a keen eye for detail when it comes to library creation and maintenance. Your ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and PCB vendors helps you continually improve design rules and guidelines, ensuring that your designs are optimized for testing and manufacturing.
What you'll do
As a PCB Designer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for determining layer stackup and performing component placement for a variety of designs, from radio phased arrays to solar power converters. You will create and release documentation for PCB fabrication, ensuring that all necessary details are captured for successful manufacturing. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine design rules and constraints, enhancing the overall quality and reliability of the boards you design.
You will also engage in signal routing for digital, analog, RF, and power conversion applications, applying your expertise to solve complex design challenges. Your contributions will play a crucial role in supporting national security efforts through the Starshield project, leveraging SpaceX's advanced technologies to enable government use of satellite communications and earth observation.
