Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with a strong background in designing and implementing security solutions for complex systems. Your expertise includes network security, incident response, and vulnerability assessment — you've successfully identified and remediated security vulnerabilities in previous roles. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and have experience with cloud platforms like AWS, which you have utilized to enhance security measures.

You understand the importance of confidentiality, integrity, and availability in information security and have a proven track record of protecting sensitive data and systems. Your experience includes working collaboratively with application development teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle. You are detail-oriented and have a strong analytical mindset, allowing you to assess risks and implement effective security controls.

Desirable

Experience with identity and access management solutions is a plus, as is familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001. You are also knowledgeable about security tools and technologies, including intrusion detection systems and firewalls, which you have used to monitor and protect network environments.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain security solutions that protect SpaceX's systems, networks, and data. You will work closely with various application development and customer groups to identify and remediate emerging vulnerabilities. Your responsibilities will include implementing authentication and identity services, including multi-factor solutions and network access control measures. You will also conduct security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and SpaceX's internal policies.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident response plans. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will provide guidance on security best practices and help foster a culture of security awareness within the organization. Your role will also involve staying up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends, ensuring that SpaceX's security posture remains robust and proactive.
