Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on backend development, particularly in C++. You understand the importance of building scalable and reliable systems, and you have experience in developing user interfaces that enhance user experience. You are familiar with integrating frontend technologies, specifically web component frameworks like Lit, in JavaScript and TypeScript. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology.

You possess a keen eye for design and functionality, ensuring that the user interfaces you create are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. You are detail-oriented and understand the complexities involved in developing software for mission-critical applications. Your ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

Desirable

Experience with real-time data processing and networking for mission-critical applications is a plus. Familiarity with aerospace or similar industries would be beneficial, as well as a passion for space exploration and technology.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Displays team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend systems in C++ that support real-time data processing for mission-critical displays. You will work closely with other engineers to design and implement robust systems that enable vehicle operators to control the pad and vehicle effectively. Your role will involve creating user interfaces that provide astronauts with insights into vehicle health and mission trajectory, ensuring that these interfaces are both functional and user-friendly.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software you develop meets the high standards required for space missions. This includes participating in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of the systems you build. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the overall architecture of the software, making decisions that impact the scalability and maintainability of the systems.
