You hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline and have at least 1 year of experience in software engineering. You are comfortable working in a high-autonomy environment where you can take ownership of problems from start to finish. You enjoy collaborating closely with manufacturing staff to understand their challenges and develop effective software solutions. Your technical skills include proficiency in C, C++, and Python, which you leverage to create reliable software that interfaces with manufacturing equipment. You thrive in situations where you need to dive deep into user problems and come up with efficient solutions, even when documentation is sparse.

Desirable

Experience with electronics design software and an understanding of manufacturing processes would be beneficial. Familiarity with APIs and hardware integration is also a plus, as you will be tasked with creating applications that improve production operations.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the PCBA design and manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing highly reliable software solutions that are utilized across SpaceX's production and engineering departments. You will create new applications aimed at improving the efficiency of the production line, ensuring that the PCBA manufacturing process is faster and more reliable. Your role will involve building prototypes to validate key design concepts and quantify technical constraints, allowing you to contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations. You will also integrate electronics design software with manufacturing equipment, displaying ownership throughout the application release process. Your ability to understand and solve user problems will be crucial in this role, as you will work closely with manufacturing staff to identify issues and develop software solutions that meet their needs.
