Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline, along with 5+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering. Your expertise includes performing design and analysis calculations for structural steel and concrete, and you are adept at developing and issuing drawings and design documentation for aerospace and industrial projects. You have a proven track record of managing construction contracts and resolving design conflicts in real-time, showcasing your strong problem-solving skills.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy leading project teams, consulting with engineers and contractors throughout the entire engineering process. Your experience includes providing direct onsite engineering inspections and field observations, ensuring that projects are executed to the highest standards. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines.

Desirable

Experience with aerospace projects or large-scale construction is a plus, as is familiarity with industry standards and regulations. You are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and can adapt to changing project requirements while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.

What you'll do

As a Senior Structural Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the project team in the design, construction, and commissioning of a second orbital launch pad. You will collaborate with a diverse group of engineers to develop innovative solutions that enhance the capabilities of the Starship rocket. Your responsibilities will include managing the civil and structural aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.

You will be responsible for developing and issuing detailed drawings and design documentation, as well as performing structural analysis calculations. Your role will involve writing, negotiating, and managing construction contracts with subcontractors, guiding them through the project lifecycle from procurement to close-out. You will also conduct onsite inspections and field observations, providing real-time feedback to resolve any design or construction conflicts that may arise.
