Who you are

You have a background in supply chain engineering with a focus on mechanical systems, ideally with 3-5 years of experience in a related field. You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at improving quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware. Your experience includes collaborating with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to gain a comprehensive understanding of piece parts, assembly, and subsystem integration. You are a creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to achieve production goals.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or aerospace engineering is a plus. Familiarity with industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks will enhance your ability to contribute effectively. You are comfortable working with suppliers and have a knack for developing effective supply chain strategies that align with production objectives. Your communication skills enable you to coordinate seamlessly with various teams, ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain are optimized for success.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining supplier relationships from initial concept development through to full-scale production. You will work closely with internal engineering and manufacturing departments to execute effective supply chain strategies that meet production goals. Your responsibilities will include improving quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware used in the Starshield satellite and ground station systems. You will collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to gain an in-depth knowledge of piece parts and assembly processes. Additionally, you will analyze supplier performance and implement improvements to ensure that production timelines are met.

You will also participate in cross-functional teams to drive supplier development initiatives, ensuring that all suppliers meet SpaceX's high standards for quality and performance. Your role will require you to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in supply chain management, allowing you to bring innovative ideas to the table. You will be instrumental in facilitating communication between suppliers and internal teams, ensuring that all parties are aligned and working towards common objectives.
