You have a strong background in IT systems engineering, with experience leading teams and managing complex IT infrastructure. Your leadership skills are complemented by a hands-on technical approach, allowing you to contribute directly to the systems you oversee. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adaptable to the challenges that come with supporting launch operations. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams ensures that you can distill requirements into effective IT solutions that support the entire launch lifecycle.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to serve as a liaison between SpaceX and external organizations such as the United States Space Force and NASA. Your experience in technical briefings and requirement evaluations allows you to connect the right resources to solve challenges effectively. You are committed to driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the reliability of IT systems and improve team efficiency.

Desirable

Experience with IT infrastructure in aerospace or similar industries is a plus. Familiarity with change management, performance metrics, and incident handling will help you excel in this role. A proactive mindset and a passion for innovation will set you apart as a candidate.

What you'll do

As the Lead IT Systems Engineer, you will oversee a team responsible for implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure that supports SpaceX’s launch operations. You will lead efforts to ensure that critical systems are optimally tuned and ready for launch activities. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to design and implement IT solutions that facilitate pre-flight preparations, launch execution, and post-launch analysis.

You will drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the reliability of IT systems. This includes managing change processes, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies. You will also handle incident management and customer requests, ensuring that all IT services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will participate in technical briefings with external partners, evaluating requirements and connecting appropriate resources to address challenges. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative environment where your team can thrive and contribute to SpaceX’s mission of enabling human life on Mars.
