Operations Analyst • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have 4-5 years of experience in middle or back office operations, specifically focusing on performance and valuation reconciliations. Your background includes familiarity with private equity processes, which is considered a strong asset for this role. You possess excellent Excel skills and are proficient in programming languages such as VBA and Python, enabling you to develop coding solutions for recurring issues and process improvements.

You understand the importance of teamwork and are committed to establishing long-lasting organizational relationships that foster a productive work environment. Your strong written and oral communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with various teams, including Investments, Fund Accounting, Project Managers, and IT. You are detail-oriented and have a solid knowledge base of vanilla, OTC, and exotic financial instruments, which enhances your ability to troubleshoot daily P&L and valuation reconciliations.

Desirable

Experience in private equity is a plus, as it will help you support the team’s diverse product coverage. Familiarity with relevant technology and applications is essential to excel in this role, and you are eager to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.

What you'll do

As an Operations Analyst at Squarepoint Capital, your primary focus will be to ensure the accuracy of daily performances and valuations across different systems. You will perform reconciliations of various P&L components and ensure that the P&L Explain aligns with the fund administrator. Monitoring live performance in all funds will be a key responsibility, as will ensuring end-of-day and month-end pricing accuracy.

You will work closely with different teams to understand and troubleshoot daily P&L and valuation reconciliations. Your role will also involve exposure to new product onboarding, allowing you to contribute to the development of innovative solutions. You will be responsible for establishing effective communication channels with stakeholders to ensure that figures are consistent between the fund administrator and internal systems.

In addition to your analytical duties, you will be involved in system and process improvements, working on new business initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. Your coding skills will be utilized to address recurring issues and implement process enhancements that benefit the organization.
