Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and at least 4 years of experience in Python development within the financial industry. You are a team player with excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with various stakeholders to capture requirements and define architecture. Your experience with database management systems, particularly SQL, allows you to manage and manipulate data effectively. You possess knowledge of traded financial instruments such as Equity, FX, Credit, or Rates, which enhances your understanding of the domain.

You are familiar with the FIX protocol and have experience in data engineering, utilizing Python with libraries like pandas, R, or Julia. You are eager to learn and grow within the hedge fund environment, understanding the intricacies of trading operations and risk management.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver high-quality, maintainable software that is critical to the business. You will work closely with stakeholders to capture requirements and define the architecture and technologies needed for the Risk Data Pipelines. Your responsibilities will include normalizing and streaming trade data from various trading platforms to ensure accuracy and compliance. You will also automate trading operations, managing options and futures expiry, and reconciling trades, positions, and P&L.

You will lead design discussions and mentor other team members, contributing to a collaborative and innovative team culture. Additionally, you will participate in level 2 support, ensuring that the systems you develop are reliable and efficient. Your work will directly impact the trading strategies and risk management processes at Squarepoint Capital, providing you with a unique opportunity to influence the firm's operations.
