Overview

Storable is hiring a Quality Engineer to ensure the accuracy and reliability of their data engineering processes. You'll develop and implement quality control strategies for data pipelines and reporting solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles and experience with data quality testing.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid background in data engineering principles and a passion for ensuring data quality — your experience includes developing and implementing robust quality controls and testing strategies for data pipelines and reporting solutions. You are skilled in both automated and manual testing, with a focus on validating data accuracy, completeness, and consistency against business rules.

You possess a strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and can validate data pipelines to ensure efficient data processing — your attention to detail allows you to focus on error handling, performance, and scalability. You are familiar with big data technologies and have experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment, which enhances your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Your technical leadership skills enable you to steer testing efforts and implement quality gates within CI/CD pipelines — you are proactive in establishing data quality monitoring dashboards to identify and alert on data anomalies. You understand the importance of data governance, metadata management, and master data management principles, which are crucial for maintaining data integrity.

Desirable

Experience with performance testing and optimization techniques for large-scale data systems is a plus — you are always looking for ways to improve processes and enhance the quality of data outputs. You thrive in environments that encourage innovation and continuous improvement, and you are eager to contribute to the success of the data engineering team.

What you'll do

As a Quality Engineer at Storable, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our central data lake and reporting products. You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies and quality control processes specifically for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption within the data ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include creating, executing, and maintaining automated and manual data quality tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

You will validate ETL/ELT data pipelines, focusing on ensuring that data is processed correctly and efficiently — this involves thorough testing and validation of the data displayed in business intelligence reports and dashboards against source data. You will implement quality gates within the CI/CD pipeline and establish monitoring dashboards to proactively identify data anomalies and pipeline issues.

Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with data engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that quality standards are met and maintained. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies, helping to foster a culture of quality within the team.

What we offer

Storable provides a supportive work environment where you can grow your skills and advance your career in data engineering. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to meaningful projects that impact the company's success. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your passion for data quality and commitment to excellence are what matter most to us.
