Who you are

You have over 12 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or staff-level role — you've led complex projects and have a deep understanding of both backend and frontend technologies. Your expertise in PHP and modern frameworks allows you to build robust backend systems, while your proficiency in React enables you to create engaging user interfaces. You are well-versed in AWS services and understand how to leverage them for scalable cloud infrastructure.

You possess strong communication skills and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design — you know how to align technical solutions with business objectives. Your leadership style includes mentoring engineers at various levels, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement within your team. You are proactive in identifying technical debt and driving initiatives to enhance performance and security.

Desirable

Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms is a plus, as is knowledge of API design and integration patterns like REST and GraphQL. Familiarity with microservices architecture or modular monolith evolution will further strengthen your candidacy.

What you'll do

In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for the architecture and design of scalable systems across our PHP backend and React frontend. You will own complex features from inception to deployment, influencing the technical direction of the team and setting best practices for code quality, testing, and CI/CD processes. Your role will involve close collaboration with product and design teams to ensure that technical solutions align with product strategy and deliver significant business impact.

You will coach and mentor engineers, providing technical guidance and helping shape the engineering culture at Storable. Your focus will be on ensuring that our systems are performant and reliable on AWS, utilizing services such as RDS, ECS, Lambda, S3, and CloudFront. You will also be tasked with identifying areas of technical debt and leading initiatives to improve the overall developer experience, security, and scalability of our systems.
