Overview
StraighterLine is seeking a Surgical Tech Subject Matter Expert to review and validate course content for their upcoming Surgical Tech course. This contract position requires expertise in surgical technology and relevant certifications.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in surgical technology. You hold an associate degree or higher in a related healthcare field and possess active certifications such as CST (NBSTSA) or STC. Your expertise allows you to review course content for clinical accuracy and ensure alignment with certification exams. You have a keen eye for detail and can identify errors, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in educational materials.
You have experience in curriculum development or content review, which enhances your ability to provide valuable feedback on course materials. Any teaching experience you may have further strengthens your qualifications, as you understand the importance of effective communication in educational settings. You are committed to ensuring that students receive the best possible preparation for their certification careers.
What you'll do
As a Surgical Tech Subject Matter Expert, you will review and validate course content developed by our vendor partner, ensuring clinical accuracy and industry relevance. You will provide expert feedback on any errors or outdated information and validate exam preparation across multiple certification pathways. Collaboration with our academic team and content vendor will be essential to resolve questions and clarify standards. You will approve final content before the course launch, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and relevance.
Your time commitment will be flexible, estimated at 20-30 hours total over a 13-week period from February to May 2026. This role is crucial in helping StraighterLine transform higher education by providing affordable and accessible online courses that prepare students for in-demand certification careers.
