Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering leadership, having shipped production code within the last 6 months and actively contributed to open-source projects. Your experience includes hiring and managing multiple product or platform teams of successful engineers, ideally in a startup or VC-backed environment. You love building large-scale, user-facing APIs and are eager to learn Go if you haven't worked with it before. You understand the trade-offs of distributed systems and can debug performance issues at scale, ensuring that the systems you build are both fast and reliable. You are also familiar with using AI tools to enhance productivity and are committed to writing high-quality code.
What you'll do
As the Technical Director of Engineering at Stream, you will lead multiple teams focused on our core API products: Chat, Feed, and Moderation. You will be responsible for the product roadmap, customer launches, and overall project management. Your role will involve collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure that our APIs meet the needs of billions of global end-users across various applications. You will also mentor team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of our products and ensuring that they are scalable and efficient.
