Tempus is seeking a Senior Manager, Clinical Laboratory Safety to oversee safety initiatives in clinical laboratory environments. You'll ensure compliance with regulatory safety standards and implement effective safety programs. This role requires expertise in OSHA, CAP/CLIA, and other safety regulations.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in clinical laboratory safety management, with at least 5 years of experience in overseeing safety programs in laboratory settings. Your expertise includes compliance with regulatory standards such as OSHA, CAP/CLIA, and FDA, ensuring that all safety protocols are met and maintained across multiple sites. You are skilled in designing and implementing safety training programs, fostering a culture of safety within the organization. Your analytical skills allow you to utilize historical safety data to continuously improve safety procedures and tools.
You are a subject matter expert in environmental health and safety, capable of interpreting and applying complex regulatory requirements. You understand the nuances of laboratory operations, including cell culture, molecular biology, and biorepository practices. Your communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with leadership and staff to promote a safe working environment. You are proactive in identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, implement, and manage a comprehensive safety program for Tempus' clinical laboratory spaces. You will ensure that all equipment, processes, and personnel behaviors align with safety standards to maintain an accident-free workplace. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular safety audits, facilitating safety training for new employees, and overseeing annual re-training programs. You will work closely with laboratory leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory safety standards across multiple laboratory departments.
You will continuously assess and improve the safety program by analyzing historical safety data and incorporating updates in safety procedures. Your role will involve acting as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and compliance issues, ensuring that all staff are informed and trained on safety protocols. You will also be responsible for managing safety documentation and reporting, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
