Who you are

You are an experienced product designer with a strong background in creating user-centered designs that enhance the payment experience for small businesses. With over 5 years of experience in product design, you have a proven track record of delivering impactful design solutions that meet user needs and business goals. You possess a deep understanding of design principles and methodologies, and you are skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring your designs to life. You are passionate about using design to solve complex problems and improve the lives of small business owners.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable taking ownership of your projects from concept to execution. You have experience working in the payments or fintech industry, which gives you insight into the unique challenges and opportunities in this space. You are a strong communicator, able to articulate your design decisions and advocate for the user experience in discussions with stakeholders. You believe in the power of diversity and inclusion in design and are committed to creating products that serve all users effectively.

Desirable

Experience with design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD is a plus, as is familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing. You have a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces. You are open to feedback and continuously seek to improve your skills and knowledge in the field of product design.

What you'll do

As a Principal Product Designer at Teya, you will lead the design efforts for our Payments team, focusing on how merchants across Europe accept payments and manage transactions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define the vision and strategy for payment flows within our ecosystem. Your role will involve conducting user research to understand the needs and pain points of small business owners, and translating those insights into design solutions that enhance the user experience.

You will be responsible for creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate your ideas and design concepts. You will also play a key role in establishing design guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency across our products. Your expertise will help shape the overall user experience and ensure that our payment solutions are not only functional but also delightful to use.

In addition to your design work, you will mentor and guide junior designers on the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. You will participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to help elevate the quality of the team's work. Your contributions will directly impact the success of Teya's mission to empower small businesses and improve their payment experiences.
