Who you are
You have a strong background in control systems engineering, with experience in designing and implementing control algorithms for complex systems. Your expertise in programming languages such as C and C++ allows you to develop robust solutions for real-time applications. You are familiar with embedded Linux environments and have used MATLAB and Simulink for simulation and modeling of control strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and developers to translate system requirements into effective control logic. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of safety-critical systems, ensuring that your designs meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. You are eager to contribute to innovative projects in the aerospace sector and are excited about the challenges that come with developing advanced propulsion systems.
What you'll do
As a Control System Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the Propulsion AIT team, focusing on the design, simulation, and testing of control algorithms for propulsion test facilities. You will develop both open-loop and closed-loop control algorithms for various processes, including pressure regulation, mass flow control, and temperature control. Collaborating with test operations engineers, you will translate physical system requirements into real-time control logic that is deployed on Beckhoff PLC hardware and high-speed DAQ systems. Your responsibilities will include simulating control strategies under various conditions, ensuring that the systems operate efficiently and safely. You will also be involved in maintaining and optimizing existing control systems, continuously improving their performance and reliability. Your work will directly impact the success of our propulsion systems, contributing to the development of modular and reusable space vehicles.
