Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and have over 3 years of relevant experience in control systems for autonomous driving. You possess a strong understanding of robust control, vehicle dynamics, and systems engineering, with practical experience in state estimation techniques such as Kalman filters and particle filters. Your coding skills in C++ and Python are robust, enabling you to develop effective software solutions for control systems.

You have proven experience in designing and implementing low-level control systems specifically for actuator control, ensuring high precision and reliability in vehicle operations. Your background includes collaboration with engineers focused on motion planning, behavior planning, and mission planning, allowing you to contribute effectively to the development of robust autonomous driving systems.

Desirable

Experience with ROS/ROS2 and model predictive control (MPC) is preferred, along with familiarity in working with safety-critical systems in the automotive or aerospace industries. You have a track record of utilizing adaptive and self-correcting control algorithms to maintain and enhance system performance under various operational conditions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and implement longitudinal and lateral control systems for autonomous driving, optimizing them for real-time operations. You will transform high-level commands into specific actuator controls, ensuring that the vehicle responds accurately to dynamic road conditions. Your responsibilities will include developing estimation algorithms for key vehicle parameters such as road slope, vehicle speed, and slip, enhancing the precision and reliability of the control systems.

You will work closely with other engineers and teams to ensure seamless operation of the systems, focusing on motion planning and behavior planning. Your contributions will be critical in solving challenging problems in the autonomous driving domain, and you will be expected to engage in continuous improvement of the control systems.
