Overview
The Exploration Company is seeking a Senior Sales & Bid Manager to lead capture and proposal activities for in-orbit services. You'll engage with European institutional and defense customers, driving bid strategy and negotiations. This role requires a strong blend of customer engagement and technical credibility.
Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in sales and bid management, particularly within the aerospace or defense sectors. Your background includes leading complex proposals and managing multi-partner engagements, showcasing your ability to navigate intricate stakeholder landscapes. You possess a strong technical understanding of in-orbit services, enabling you to translate customer requirements into compelling proposals. Your leadership style is hands-on, and you thrive in environments where you can combine strategic thinking with practical execution. You are adept at shaping bid strategies and storytelling, ensuring that proposals resonate with clients and meet compliance standards. Your negotiation skills are top-notch, allowing you to drive contracts to successful closure while maintaining strong relationships with partners and clients.
Desirable
Experience with European institutional and defense customers is a plus, as is familiarity with the technical aspects of space operations. You may also have a background in project management or engineering, which enhances your ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams. A proven track record of winning bids in competitive environments will set you apart.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the capture strategy for in-orbit services opportunities, which includes qualification, stakeholder mapping, and competitive positioning. You will lead the end-to-end writing of bids, ensuring that the proposal architecture, storyline, and value proposition are compelling and compliant. Your responsibilities will also include managing the full proposal plan, from scheduling and resource allocation to compliance checks and risk management. You will engage with partners and consortium members early in the process to define roles and workshare logic, ensuring alignment on industrial positioning and risk. Your ability to shape customer requirements and translate them into a coherent narrative will be crucial for success. You will also be responsible for leading negotiations through to contract signature, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the final agreement.
