Who you are
You have a strong background in security engineering, particularly in application security and cloud infrastructure — your experience includes implementing security measures that support rapid innovation without compromising safety. You are proficient in AWS and have hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Your familiarity with Linux environments allows you to navigate and secure systems effectively.
You possess solid programming skills in Python, enabling you to automate security tasks and develop tools that enhance security workflows. Your understanding of security best practices and frameworks, such as OWASP, helps you identify vulnerabilities and implement effective remediation strategies. You are comfortable using tools like Wireshark for network analysis and troubleshooting, ensuring that security measures are both proactive and reactive.
What you'll do
As a Security Engineer at Thumbtack, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle.
