You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You understand the complexities of integrating with microservices and have a strong grasp of compliance requirements, especially in the context of payroll systems.
Your expertise in Go is complemented by a solid understanding of modular architectures and how to design systems that can evolve over time. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of your work and contribute to the overall success of the team.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges head-on. You have experience working in agile teams and are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality software solutions.
You are data-driven in your decision-making and understand the importance of user experience in software design. You are passionate about creating products that genuinely help users save time and money.
Desirable
Experience with cloud services and deployment strategies would be a plus, as would familiarity with CI/CD practices. You may also have experience in the fintech sector, which would help you understand the unique challenges faced by small businesses.
What you'll do
As a Senior GoLang Engineer at Tide, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining payroll software that is user-friendly and compliant with UK regulations. You will work closely with the Payroll team to ensure that the software meets the needs of our 1.6 million members.
You will design and implement features within a modular Go monolith, ensuring that each component integrates seamlessly with Tide's microservices ecosystem. Your work will involve tackling complex challenges related to payroll compliance and user experience.
You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver high-quality software. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of the team's development practices.
Your role will require you to stay updated with industry trends and best practices, ensuring that Tide remains at the forefront of small business banking solutions. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and help them grow in their careers.
