Turion Space is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to lead the design and implementation of guidance, navigation, and control systems for satellite missions. You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers. This role requires expertise in GNC algorithms and systems.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) engineering, particularly in the context of satellite systems. Your background includes leading projects and mentoring junior engineers, showcasing your ability to guide teams towards successful outcomes. You are well-versed in advanced GNC algorithms and control systems, with a strong understanding of mission analysis and trajectory optimization. Your technical expertise allows you to oversee the integration of various guidance and navigation sensors, ensuring they function seamlessly within satellite platforms. You stay updated with the latest advancements in GNC engineering, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in your field.

Desirable

Experience with small satellite missions is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest GNC technologies and methodologies. You have a collaborative mindset, enabling you to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the overall technical strategy of satellite programs. Your analytical skills allow you to optimize system performance, ensuring stability and robustness in GNC systems.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced GNC algorithms and control systems for small satellite missions. You will conduct mission analysis and trajectory optimization to ensure that mission objectives are met effectively. Overseeing the integration of guidance and navigation sensors, including star trackers, sun sensors, and GPS receivers, will be a key responsibility. You will collaborate closely with mission design and flight software teams to create and implement mission profiles and algorithms. Conducting simulations and testing to validate and verify GNC algorithms and control systems will be part of your daily tasks. You will also drive the continuous improvement of GNC processes and methodologies, sharing your knowledge with the engineering team to foster a culture of learning and development.
