Who you are

You have a solid background in cost accounting, with experience in developing and maintaining cost models for complex projects. Your analytical skills allow you to perform detailed cost analysis for manufacturing and development projects, ensuring accuracy in labor, material, and overhead costs. You are familiar with government contracting regulations and cost accounting standards, such as FAR and DFARS, which guide your compliance efforts.

You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with Supply Chain and Engineering teams to monitor Bill of Materials (BOM) costs and assess the impacts of design or sourcing changes. Your attention to detail ensures that you track and allocate costs effectively for R&D activities and capital expenditures. You are proactive in identifying trends and drivers of cost variances, providing valuable insights to management and program teams.

What you'll do

As a Cost Accountant at Turion Space, you will play a critical role in building and operating the cost accounting systems that support spacecraft development and production efforts. You will develop, implement, and maintain accurate cost models for spacecraft components, assemblies, and systems. Your responsibilities will include performing detailed cost analysis for manufacturing and development projects, supporting pricing decisions, proposals, and contract bids by preparing cost estimates and supporting documentation.

You will monitor, analyze, and report cost variances to management and program teams, identifying trends and drivers that impact financial performance. Ensuring compliance with applicable government contracting regulations and cost accounting standards will be a key part of your role. You will also support inventory valuation activities, including physical inventories and cycle counts, to maintain accurate financial records.
