Who you are
You have a strong background in accounting with a focus on maintaining the integrity of financial records β your experience includes managing general ledger accuracy and transactional accounting activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. You are well-versed in GAAP and understand the importance of compliance and internal controls in a growing organization.
You have a proven track record of supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes β your attention to detail ensures that financial reporting is timely and accurate. You are skilled in preparing and analyzing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, and you thrive in environments where you can contribute to process improvements.
You are proactive in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities β your analytical skills allow you to conduct variance analysis and provide detailed reporting that reflects actual performance versus budget. You enjoy collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance during annual audits.
Desirable
Experience with SOX-level SOP documentation is a plus, as is familiarity with financial software and tools that enhance accounting processes. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to the scaling of accounting policies and internal controls.
What you'll do
In your role as Senior Staff Accountant, you will own the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across various accounting activities β this includes overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, payroll, and journal entries. You will support the Controller as a primary contributor to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and submitted on time.
You will prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP β your insights will help the company understand its financial position and make informed decisions. You will generate, analyze, and communicate financial data that reflects actual performance versus budget, providing valuable insights to the executive team.
As the company scales, you will establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies and internal controls β your role will be crucial in developing SOX-level SOP documentation that supports the organizationβs growth. You will identify, research, and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities, ensuring that the financial records are always accurate and reliable.
You will also assist with variance analysis and detailed reporting, contributing to ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed β your analytical skills will be essential in providing insights that drive business decisions. Coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all financial regulations.
