Overview
Turion Space is hiring a Senior Payload Engineer to lead the design, integration, and testing of spacecraft payload systems. You'll work closely with the systems engineering team to ensure compliance with mission requirements. This position is based on-site in Irvine, California.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in aerospace engineering or a related field, with extensive experience in payload design and integration. Your expertise includes defining system requirements and conducting performance analysis to ensure payloads meet mission objectives. You are skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly systems engineering, to ensure compliance with all requirements. You have a proven track record of developing and executing test plans for complex systems, ensuring that all aspects of payload performance are thoroughly evaluated. Your documentation skills are exceptional, allowing you to prepare comprehensive reports and specifications that adhere to industry standards.
What you'll do
As a Senior Payload Engineer at Turion Space, you will independently own the design and development of payload systems, ensuring they align with the overall spacecraft architecture. You will integrate payload systems into our spacecraft platform, working to ensure compatibility with various subsystems. Your role will involve developing and executing rigorous test plans, conducting functional and environmental tests to validate payload performance. You will perform system analysis and simulations to predict payload behavior, utilizing advanced modeling tools. Additionally, you will maintain comprehensive documentation for all payload systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with the systems engineering team will be key to your success, as you will interface regularly to ensure all requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
