Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a solid understanding of security principles and practices. Your background includes working with critical distributed systems and libraries, and you are passionate about cybersecurity and identity access management (IAM). You excel at fostering team growth and are not afraid to dive into the codebase to lead by example. You have experience in setting team direction by identifying technical priorities and managing expectations while considering tradeoffs. You empower delivery by forming actionable plans and maintaining productivity across engineering teams with well-defined goals.
Desirable
Experience with security primitives and products that help engineering teams secure their systems is a plus. Familiarity with automation and efficiency improvements in security processes will be beneficial. You are comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with various stakeholders to mitigate security risks and enhance Uber's security posture.
What you'll do
As the Engineering Manager II, you will lead the Security Engineering team at Uber, focusing on making production and corporate environments secure by default. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions that strengthen Uberβs security posture. Your role will involve working closely with other engineering teams to build trust and advance security measures that enable Uber's global business. You will set team direction by identifying technical priorities and opportunities, managing expectations, and considering tradeoffs. You will empower your team by forming actionable plans, allocating responsibilities, and maintaining productivity across engineering teams with well-defined goals. You will also be expected to foster a collaborative environment that aligns with Uber's cultural identity.
