What you'll do
As the Director of Engineering for the Marketplace team, you will lead a talented group of 40 engineers and applied scientists, focusing on developing the technology and systems that underpin driver pricing and matching. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction and ensuring that your team has the resources and support needed to innovate and excel.
You will collaborate closely with data science, product, and operations teams to shape the technical strategy and drive the implementation of machine learning models and algorithms that optimize pricing and enhance user experience. Your leadership will be crucial in building a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, where your team can test, learn, and iterate on their solutions.
In this role, you will also be expected to engage with stakeholders across the organization, presenting your team's progress and insights while advocating for the resources necessary to achieve your vision. You will play a key role in mentoring and developing your team members, helping them grow in their careers while delivering impactful results for Uber's Marketplace.
