Who you are
You have over 4 years of engineering management experience, including hiring, mentorship, and team development — you've successfully led teams in fast-paced environments and understand the nuances of building high-performing engineering cultures. Your background as a high-performing back-end or full-stack individual contributor allows you to read and review production-level code, ensuring that your team adheres to best practices in software development.
You possess strong leadership skills and are adept at setting direction for your team while ensuring high-quality execution across both platform and user-facing initiatives. Your ability to foster a strong, inclusive team culture is complemented by your experience in coaching and mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow both technically and professionally.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and grow the Discovery UX engineering team, setting the strategic direction and ensuring that the team delivers transformative user experiences that drive business outcomes like growth, conversion, and retention. You will partner closely with Product, Data Science, and Design teams to define and deliver these experiences, ensuring alignment with Uber's overall mission and goals.
You will guide technical design and architecture decisions, ensuring that your team builds scalable systems that support the hundreds of engineers working on features for the Uber Eats home screen. Your influence will extend across the broader Inspire & Feed organizations, driving strategic investments and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
